A promising tactical transport aviation multipurpose platform (TrAMP) has been designed in Russia. Specialists have started its ground tests. The first flight of TrAMP is scheduled for April, according to military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
Engineers are testing and debugging the drone's control systems and mechanisms. TrAMP performs a series of runs without taking off from the runway. Thus, the creators are checking the calculated parameters of the drone.
The vehicle can be used both as a means of transport to facilitate logistics in hard-to-reach areas of the theater of operations, and as a repeater and carrier of small FPV drones.
TrAMP characteristics:
- Cruising speed — 195 km/h
- Altitude ceiling — 3000 m
- Range — more than 600 km
- Cargo compartment volume 2650 l
- Cargo drop by parachute
- Possibility of suspension of shock payload
A special feature of TrAMP is a reinforced chassis with large diameter tires for takeoff and landing on short, unprepared sites. The drone has a modular design, which allows replacing parts (wing, engine, chassis) in the field.
