Russia has designed a promising tactical transport aviation multipurpose platform (TrAMP). Specialists have begun its ground tests. The first flight of TrAMP is scheduled for April, according to military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
Engineers are checking and debugging the drone's control systems and mechanisms. TrAMP is performing a series of runs without lifting off the runway. Thus, the creators are checking the calculated parameters of the drone.
The machine can be used both as a vehicle to facilitate logistics in hard-to-reach areas of the theater of operations, and as a repeater and carrier of small-sized FPV drones.
TrAMP characteristics:
- Cruising speed — 195 km/h
- Altitude ceiling — 3000 m
- Range — more than 600 km
- Cargo compartment volume 2650 l
- Cargo drop by parachute
- Possibility of suspension of strike payload
A feature of TrAMP is a reinforced chassis with large diameter tires for takeoff and landing on short, unprepared sites. The drone has a modular design, which allows replacing parts (wing, engine, chassis) in the field.
