The Russian government has refused to finance the creation of droneports

Experts believe that the industry does not need special infrastructure now

The Russian government has refused to finance the creation of droneports as part of the federal project "Development of infrastructure, ensuring safety and the formation of a specialized certification system for unmanned aircraft systems" of the national project "Unmanned Aircraft Systems" (UAS).

According to Vedomosti, the decision is due to the fact that the creation of such infrastructure at airports was recognized as irrelevant at the current stage of industry development. The project involves postponing the implementation dates by at least three years.

By 2030, it was planned to open 241 sites for receiving and operating unmanned aerial vehicles in 84 regions of Russia, including 49 zones at airfields in seven constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In 2025, it was planned to equip sites at 12 airfields of federal property.

As experts explained, the development of the UAV industry is possible without special infrastructure, which made investing in droneports a secondary task.
