Mir cards will start working in Iran by June 30 of this year

Iranian citizens will be able to make payment transactions in Russia using their cards in the second half of 2025

The second phase of integration of the payment systems of Russia and Iran is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2025. The implementation of the project will allow Mir cardholders to use them in Iranian territory to pay for goods and services. This was announced by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow, Kazem Jalali.

The third stage, when Iranian citizens will be able to pay for purchases using their cards in Russia, is planned to be launched in the second half of 2025.

In November 2024, the Russian payment system Mir was connected to the Iranian Shetab. This opened up the possibility of withdrawing cash in rubles from Iranian cards in Russia.
