A Register of Malicious Alimony Defaulters to Be Created in the Russian Federation: It Will Be Posted on the FSSP Website in May

The register may include 133 thousand debtors

Less than six months remain before the creation of a register of malicious alimony defaulters, which will operate on the official website of the FSSP. Debtors who risk being included in it have time to pay off their debts.

The register will include those who do not fulfill their obligations to pay alimony and hide their whereabouts. The list may include approximately 133 thousand people.

Inclusion in the register may entail additional measures. For example, the possibility of banning malicious defaulters from attending sporting events is being considered, as well as suspending the validity of personalized fan cards. Wider restrictions are also possible, such as those applied in China, where debtors may be prohibited from flying business class.

The head of the Ministry of Justice, Konstantin Chuychenko, stated that such a register would serve as a kind of "wall of shame" for debtors. The law regulating the creation of an open register of alimony payers will come into force on May 24, 2025.
