Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Russian government to intensify the development of the unmanned aviation sector in order to achieve technological leadership. The corresponding list of instructions, approved following a meeting of the Presidential Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, was published on the official website of the Kremlin.

The document states that the government should focus on accelerating the growth of the industry, paying particular attention to indicators reflecting the volume of the Russian market and the production of unmanned aircraft systems. It also emphasizes the need to train qualified personnel and create appropriate infrastructure in the regions of Russia.

The deadline for completing the instructions is set for March 1, 2025, and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has been appointed as responsible for implementation.
