During state tests, ships of the Baltic Fleet ensured the submersion of the new diesel-electric submarine "Velikiye Luki" of project 677 "Lada".
The Ministry of Defense noted that the submarine crew and representatives of the industry, during the submersion, checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms, worked out the algorithms of actions for various methods of surfacing and controlling the ship at depths.
The submersion took place at the Baltic Fleet's naval training grounds, and was provided by warships and rescue vessels. After completing the underwater part, the submarine crew surfaced and continued to perform the planned tasks.
The submarine "Velikiye Luki" is the third submarine of project 677. The submarine is equipped with 533-millimeter torpedo tubes, which allow the launch of "Caliber" missiles.
