A photo of a Geran kamikaze drone with the serial number "Ы 11934" has appeared online. Considering the marking, Western experts suggested that Russia produced about 10,000 such drones in 2024, according to Bulgarian Military.
The Russian factory has switched to overdrive, producing Gerans so quickly that military analysts are struggling to keep up. Previously, Russia produced 1,000 kamikaze drones per month, but by the end of 2024, it was producing 2,000 units.
According to Bulgarian Military journalists, Russian engineers received key technologies for creating UAVs from Iran. The Gerans are based on the Iranian Shahed 136 kamikaze drone.
Officials in Russia have not commented on information in the Western media related to the production of Gerans.
