Modernized Soviet medium and main battle tanks T-62M and T-62MV began to be equipped with advanced improvised anti-cumulative "visors" and full all-aspect anti-drone-anti-cumulative "capsules", providing protection against both FPV drones with PG-7VL anti-tank grenades, and FGM-148E Block I Javelin ATGMs.
In most cases, the crews of these vehicles operate from closed firing positions, relying on the high accuracy of fire of the 115-mm smoothbore high-ballistic guns 2A20 (U-5TS) using high-explosive fragmentation projectiles ZOF18/27 and cumulative projectiles ZBK-15M at a distance of 9500 - 11500 m and 5800 - 6000 m with a gun elevation angle of +16 degrees.
The most advanced anti-tank tools of the modernized T-62M and T-62MV are the Sheksna guided missile systems, represented by the 9M117M1-2 Arkan ATGM with a range of up to 6000 m and tandem cumulative warheads with armor penetration of 700 mm behind dynamic protection and 750 - 800 mm without ERA.
From elevated flat sections of the terrain, T-62M/MV gunners can easily use the Arkan ATGM against enemy Leopard-2A4 tanks and other equipment with a high probability of hitting them with the very first anti-tank missiles.
