The modernized Tu-160M strategic missile carrier has received improved landing and navigation systems, according to the test pilots of the aircraft.
According to them, the Tu-160M now differs significantly from the basic model. Its equipment has been replaced and its characteristics have been improved.
The quality of the navigation system has been improved, a new landing system has been added, and the overall quality of piloting equipment has been improved.
The standard instruments in the aircraft's cockpit have also been improved. Major improvements have been made to the workstations of both the pilot and the navigator.
That is, we don't have any dial or ribbon indicators on our instrument panels. This allows us to work more efficiently.
Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov reported in December that the first modernized Tu-160Ms have already begun to be delivered to the aviation strategic nuclear forces in 2024.
