"RM Rail" May Produce Over 12.5 Thousand Freight Cars by Year-End

Production Volume Planned to Increase by 18%

The railcar manufacturer "RM Rail" plans to increase production volumes by 18%, reaching the level of 2023. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service.

The company reported an increase in demand for hoppers, tanks for petroleum products, and gondola cars. In this regard, the manufacturer is increasing the production of cars with an axle load of 25 tons on its 18-9891 bogie, although the specific share of these cars in the production structure is not disclosed. The increase in production volumes will be a record for the railcar manufacturer and is associated with an increase in the production of gondola cars, which are technologically simpler than specialized rolling stock.

By the end of 2024, "RM Rail" will retain second place in the market in terms of production volume, second only to "United Wagon Company" (UWC). However, thanks to the diversification of its product line, the company will continue to be a leader in Russian railcar manufacturing.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian Railways plans to release new freight rolling stock.
