A maximum load of 1900 MW has been set at the 4 power units of the Kola NPP (Murmansk region). This is the peak power for the entire period of operation of the facility (more than 107% of the design capacity). This was reported by the press service of Rosenergoatom.
The company was able to achieve such high indicators thanks to repairs, as well as large-scale work on the introduction of automatic load shedding in the event of short circuits, which increased the value of the flow through the Kola-Karelia energy transit.
The Kola NPP remains the main producer of electrical energy in the Murmansk region and Karelia (it accounts for 60% of nuclear generation in the region). Currently, 4 power units are in operation, and the radiation background is normal.
