The first images of the advanced Russian Su-57 fighter with the second-stage AL-51F1 engine with a flat nozzle have appeared online. The development of the aircraft has reached an advanced stage of testing, the authors of Military Watch Magazine noted.
Journalists emphasized that the AL-51F1 will facilitate supersonic flight, improve stealth, reduce maintenance needs and operating costs, increase the power of onboard subsystems such as radars, significantly improve flight range, and all aspects of flight performance.
The new engine will provide the Su-57 with much greater thrust than its competitors. The flat nozzle will significantly reduce the radar signature of the aircraft.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the acceleration of the Su-57M fighter from 600 to 1100 km/h will be reduced to 8.5 seconds due to the engine modernization.
