Chinese developers increase spending on game promotion via RuStore fivefold

The main focus is on promoting strategies and role-playing games

Chinese developers have significantly increased their investments in promoting games and applications through the Russian application store RuStore.

From January to November 2024, Chinese developers spent more than 60 million rubles on advertising applications through the "VK Reklama" platform. These expenses in the third quarter of this year increased fivefold compared to the first quarter of 2024.

The largest expenses are directed to the promotion of games in the genre of strategies and role-playing games. In addition, among other categories of applications, entertainment programs are most in demand.

RuStore was created by VK (formerly Mail.ru Group) with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia and became available in May 2022. In February 2023, the store came out of beta testing. More than 45 thousand games and applications from developers from 40 countries are already available on the platform.
