Voronezh radar systems to be used in India: authorities plan to sign purchase agreement with Russia

About 60% of the system's components will be produced in the buyer's territory

India intends to sign an agreement with Russia to acquire an advanced Voronezh long-range early warning radar system, India Today reported.

Negotiations between the Indian Ministry of Defense and the Russian Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defense Corporation are progressing rapidly. Meetings have already taken place in New Delhi and Bangalore to discuss the details of the deal.

It is expected that about 60% of the system's components will be produced in India. The Voronezh radar is capable of detecting and tracking ballistic missiles and aircraft at a distance of more than 6,000 kilometers.
