The Russian Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) (Viking, developed by the V. Tikhomirov Research Institute of Instrument Engineering) is capable of responding to many modern threats. It can hit Western stealth aircraft, Bulgarian Military writes.
One of the most hyped capabilities of the Buk-M3 is its alleged ability to counter stealth aircraft. Such technologies are used in American F-35 and F-22 aircraft.
In addition, the Buk-M3 is equipped with systems to combat small drones with a low effective scattering area (ESR). Each launcher and radar of the SAM system has its own power source and is capable of operating autonomously. This decentralization makes suppression difficult.
