Su-35S fighters began to combine weapons on the front line: kings of the air

Capable of hitting a target at a distance of up to 270 km

The Su-35S multirole fighter with a combined "air-to-air" / "surface" suspension configuration has been spotted on the front line. Its main armament is the R-37M guided missile, capable of intercepting targets at a speed of 6M.

The maximum overloads of the targets hit when launched from high altitudes are up to 8-10 units at a distance of up to 200-230 km and 4-6 units at a distance of 250-270 km. This is due to the intensive loss of speed due to aerodynamic drag and a large midsection, as well as limited available glider overloads.

For effective interception of air targets at medium and long ranges up to 110 km, R-77-1 air-to-air missiles with updated lattice aerodynamic rudders and more high-energy solid propellant rocket engines are used. The available overloads of these missiles are up to 40 units, while the angular velocity of rotation is up to 150 degrees/s.

For intercepting small-sized heat-contrast targets, including Storm Shadow, including close air combat, R-73RDM-2 air-to-air missiles with interceptor thrust vector deflection systems and highly sensitive medium-wave IR seekers are used, providing maneuvering with overloads of 40G+.
