Nuclear "Avangard" will deceive the American THAAD missile defense system thanks to small tricks: high variability of destruction

Mass and size models and dipole reflectors will help

The likely use of "Avangards" against strategically important NATO facilities will negate the anti-missile potential of THAAD complexes. A hypothetical scenario was explained by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

He recalled that the Avangard combat units on the Sarmat missile have a flight speed on the marching section of a quasi-ballistic or grazing trajectory in the range from 15 to 25M in the altitude range from 70 to 100 km.

The flight of each of the 10 Avangard combat units placed in the multiple warhead along the above trajectory is unique in that the exoatmospheric kinetic combat interceptor stages Mk 142 of the American anti-missiles RIM-161B/С/В of the THAAD anti-missiles are equipped with infrared homing heads , which, at a speed of combat stages of 3.5 - 5 km/s, are not able to function due to strong aerodynamic heating of the optically transparent fairing at altitudes of less than 100 km.

Also, combat units are capable of carrying an additional complex of missile defense penetration means in the form of dipole reflectors, mass and size models and infrared traps, autonomous electronic warfare systems and infrared aerosols, which makes the strike tandem unshakable for all existing American missile defense systems.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Su-30MS fighters of naval aviation received R-37M long-range missiles into the weapons system.
