Ядерный «Авангард» обманет американскую ПРО THAAD благодаря маленьким хитростям: высокая вариативность поражения

Mass-size Models and Dipole Reflectors Will Help

The likely use of "Avangards" against strategically important NATO facilities negates the anti-missile potential of THAAD complexes. A hypothetical scenario was explained by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

He recalled that the "Avangard" warheads on the "Sarmat" missile have a flight speed on the cruise portion of a quasi-ballistic or skimming trajectory in the range of 15 to 25M in an altitude range of 70 to 100 km.

The flight of each of the 10 "Avangard" warheads placed in the multiple independently targetable reentry vehicle along the above trajectory is unique in that the exoatmospheric kinetic kill vehicles Mk 142 of the American anti-missiles RIM-161B/С/В of the THAAD anti-missiles are equipped with infrared homing heads that, at warhead speeds of 3.5 - 5 km/s, are unable to function due to strong aerodynamic heating of the optical window at altitudes below 100 km.

Also, the warheads are capable of carrying an additional complex of missile defense penetration aids in the form of dipole reflectors, mass-size models, and infrared traps, autonomous electronic warfare systems and infrared aerosols, which makes the strike tandem impregnable to all existing American missile defense systems.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Su-30MS naval aviation fighters received R-37M long-range missiles into the weapons system.
