В России начнется серийное производство теплозащитных накидок для военнослужащих

Developments were presented at the Congress of Young Scientists in Sochi

Scientists from the Ural Interregional Research and Education Center (UIREC, which includes Ural Federal University, South Ural State University, Kurgan State University, and others) are planning to launch mass production of heat-protective capes for military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. The development was presented at the Congress of Young Scientists in Sochi.

The heat-protective cape is invisible in the IR range. Thus, a soldier wearing it will not be detected by thermal imagers. The cape not only retains heat but also prevents it from escaping.

A unique fire-resistant material for construction and production purposes was also presented at the Congress of Young Scientists. It is presented in the form of a foamed material plate. During testing, the development proved its protective properties.
