Advanced Screens for Fast Photonic Processor Created at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics

They are needed for modeling the propagation of light waves and correcting optical distortions

Researchers at the Rzhanov Institute of Semiconductor Physics (ISP) in Novosibirsk have developed innovative domestic screens for a high-performance photonic processor.

A high-performance photonic computing machine, which needs these screens, is designed for efficient processing of significant amounts of data obtained during research at laser and accelerator facilities. It uses artificial intelligence technologies to optimize the analysis of the information received.

According to scientists, domestic phase screens are the "heart" of the photonic machine. They are used to model the propagation of light waves in real time, and to correct optical distortions.

The first samples have now been made at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics (ISP) SB RAS, which will be used in our facilities for creating photonic subprocessors.
