Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to mass-produce the Oreshnik missile system, which will be put into service with the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN).
The head of state noted that the Oreshnik tests were successful, and congratulated the developers.
Russia has a supply of ready-to-use systems like the Oreshnik. The country will continue to test the latest missiles, including in combat conditions, depending on threats to its security. The results and speed of development of the new missile system are a source of pride and admiration.
The President of Russia noted that the creators of the latest missile system will be nominated for state awards.
Putin did not rule out that systems similar to Oreshnik may appear in other countries. But, according to him, they may appear in them tomorrow or in a year, and it is important that Russia already has such a system today.
Putin emphasized that the military had already used "Oreshnik" in non-nuclear hypersonic equipment. Sharing the characteristics of the latest MRBM, he noted that the missiles attack targets at a speed of 2-3 km per second, about 10 Mach.
Earlier www1.ru reported that hundreds of Omut electronic warfare systems have been delivered to the Russian military. They will become a reliable protection against enemy drones.
