The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has prepared a bill allowing Russian airlines to take aircraft on "wet lease" (lease with crew) abroad in 2025. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vladimir Poteshkin at the "Transport of Russia" forum.
The format for notifying Rosaviatsiya about the conclusion of "wet lease" agreements is being worked out. To expand the mechanism to international transportation, amendments to the Air Code have been prepared.
Currently, the department is working on launching the mechanism and studying the interest of companies. It is worth noting that "wet leasing" for domestic flights in Russia was approved on September 1, 2024.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian air carriers will be able to use "wet" leasing with foreign partners.
