This became known after the visit of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to Cuba.
According to the press service of the government, at a meeting with the co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas, he noted that Moscow and Havana are actively developing projects for assembling cars and building electric charging stations. Chernyshenko also touched upon the supply of ready-made cars.
In the field of transport, a new promising joint project will be the launch of taxi services in Cuba using "Moskvich" cars. Moscow is ready to supply the first test batch of 50 cars. The Cuban side has already identified a partner company, "Taxis Cuba," and proposed a site for the taxi depot in Havana. We thank the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, for supporting this project.
It is known that during the visit, Chernyshenko also concluded a Russian-Cuban intergovernmental agreement on the allocation of 60 million dollars for the supply of 80 thousand tons of diesel fuel and an additional 2 million dollars for equipment and spare parts.
