The United Shipbuilding Corporation intends to begin work on the renovation of "Severnaya Verf" by the end of next year. According to USC CEO Andrey Puchkov, an "absolutely new shipyard" will be created.
We have now entered the design phase, and we expect the project to be fully ready in the first half of next year. We plan to start construction at the end of next year, if everything goes without delays.
The plans of "Severnaya Verf" include the modernization of slipway berths, the expansion of docks and the automation of production. This will increase production capacity by more than ten times.
The cost of the project will be determined after its completion. According to preliminary estimates by the United Shipbuilding Corporation, investments in the project will amount to hundreds of billions of rubles.
As a reminder, "Severnaya Verf" was founded on November 14, 1912. Over the years, the company has built about 400 military and civilian vessels. Today, "Severnaya Verf" is one of the leading shipbuilding enterprises in St. Petersburg and is part of the "United Shipbuilding Corporation".
Throughout its history, "Severnaya Verf" has repeatedly undergone large-scale modernization, which resulted in the creation of a whole complex of unique facilities and industries.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that USC needsmore than 1 trillion rubles to complete the construction of ships. The main reason for the shortage of funds is that the cost of producing ships is higher than the contract prices.
