Crews of Russian long-range aviation regularly fly at any time of the year over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, Black and Baltic Seas. Today, in addition to the Barents Sea, for example, Russian nuclear weapons carriers, Tu-22M3 missile-carrying bombers took off over the Black Sea. The day before, on November 11, as many as eight Russian Tu-95MS bombers rose into the sky over the Caspian Sea. The flying "Bears" were escorted in the air by MiG-31Ks.

In the summer, Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 flew over the Baltic, Barents and Norwegian Seas, in some places it was not without the escort of NATO fighters, although all flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. And at the beginning of the year, the Tu-95MS went on patrol over the neutral waters of the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska, along with Su-30SM fighters, and stirred up American military experts.
