AvtoVAZ has announced the introduction of a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) for the LADA Vesta model, which is expected next year. Insiders have shared the first images of the new unit, which promises to improve the characteristics of LADA cars.
Although many buyers were waiting for the appearance of an automatic transmission, this option is not yet planned for domestic cars. However, the 6-speed manual will be a significant step forward compared to the traditional 5-speed gearbox.
Among other expected innovations for LADA Vesta next year are keyless access and climate control. After being introduced in Vesta, the 6-speed gearbox is also planned to be installed on the LADA Iskra model. It is noteworthy that the cost of cars with the new gearbox is likely to be higher than with the current 5-speed version.
