AvtoVAZ has produced 2 million manual transmissions of the VAZ 2180 model. This model is installed on all front-wheel drive cars with manual transmissions. It is equipped with a new switching mechanism with a cable drive.
The "five-speed" was installed on Granta, Kalina and Priora with 16-valve engines. It is designed for a torque of up to 158 Nm. Its production started in 2013.
Earlier it became known that LADA Vesta may get a new six-speed manual transmission. It will be installed on cars at the beginning of next year. The manufacturer of the "six-speed" is the Chinese company WanLiYang. It supplies AvtoVAZ with CVTs, which are installed on LADA.
