Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergei Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky have completed training for the ISS flight. They trained in the USA at the NASA Johnson Space Center. Here are the details.
The Russians studied the systems on the American segment of the station, practiced how to act in case of an emergency. For example, if there is no Dragon crew on board the ISS, the Russians will still be able to act smoothly in an emergency.
Astronaut Jonathan Kim will join the cosmonauts on the ISS. Together with Sergei Ryzhikov, he practiced how to operate in outer space.
As a reminder, NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov will also fly to the ISS on the Crew Dragon spacecraft.
The launch of the Crew Dragon manned spacecraft by a Falcon-9 rocket from the Cape Canaveral (Florida) cosmodrome is scheduled for February 2025, while the Soyuz MS-27 will go to the ISS in March 2025 from the Baikonur cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1a rocket.
