A video from the navigator's workplace of a Ka-52 helicopter has been circulating online. In this combat episode, the crew of the machine hit an enemy reconnaissance drone with a "Vikhr" missile.
The munition eliminated the aerial target with a precise hit, despite the small size of the UAV and its very low thermal radiation due to the electric motor. This is the first known example of using such ammunition against a drone.
It demonstrates that the accuracy and controllability characteristics built into the missile allow it to hit even such complex objects that are not included in the range of typical targets.
Rostec reminded that "Vikhr" missiles are also used to destroy enemy armored vehicles, including those in shelters or in motion, as well as to engage firing points, camouflaged and protected objects. The missile developer is the enterprise of the Kalashnikov group of companies, which is part of the High-Precision Complexes holding.
Earlier, The National Interest called the Russian T-72 tank the greatest in the world. Journalists stated Russia's ability to mass-produce modern modifications of the combat vehicle.
