The car market in Russia, which ranked second in Europe in August, moved to third position in September 2024. The UK took first place in car sales, selling 275,239 units.
Germany took second place in the ranking of the largest car markets in Europe, showing a result of 208,848 cars, which is 7% less than last year.
If we consider the European car market including Russia, then our country ranks third. According to the Avtostat agency, 150,879 new passenger cars were sold in the Russian Federation in September, which is 36.7% more than in the previous month.
However, in October, a decline in sales of new cars began in Russia. By the end of the third week of the month, a decrease was noted in all categories of the car market. Sales of passenger cars decreased by 12%, light commercial vehicles - by 6%, trucks - by 2%, and buses - by 37%. Owners of used cars also encountered difficulties with the sale of cars.
