Dmitry Kostromin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AvtoVAZ, spoke about the progress of the Lada Iskra project. In an interview with the Rossiyskaya Gazeta, he said that the production site is currently being prepared and the assembly line is being adjusted, and also mentioned a sports modification of the new model.
Everything is going according to plan. We will start production of this model at a low speed to guarantee quality, then we will gradually accelerate.
Test assembly is scheduled for the end of 2024. Kostromin added that the company was considering creating sports modifications of Iskra, but postponed this decision for later. There are plans to create something unique and specialized based on this model. Iskra will become a new hit in sales, the vice president of sales is sure. The cost will be in the range between the prices of Granta and Vesta.
Earlier, the Lada Iskra page appeared on the company's official website, but detailed information about it is still hidden. Iskra is much more spacious than Granta, and in terms of wheelbase, Iskra is almost catching up with Vesta.
