Unique equipment for the manufacture of large parts has started operating at the Kazan Aviation Plant named after Gorbunov (branch of Tupolev PJSC). It is expected that the use of this machine will significantly reduce the time for a number of stages of the production cycle. This was reported by the UAC press service.
Russian portal 5-axis milling machining centers with a vacuum table will allow the manufacture of components from aluminum alloys, including wing parts up to 24 meters.
According to Konstantin Timofeev, Deputy Head of UAC, the machine tool capacity at KAZ will increase. Five-axis machining will reduce the number of fitting operations, he explained.
In 2025, according to the plan, we will put into operation another similar machine.
