The air defense missile system (SAM) "Poliment-Redut" of the multipurpose frigate "Admiral Golovko" project 22350 hit a strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of aircraft type during exercises in the Barents Sea.
The combat exercise was performed by the naval-based vertical launch SAM "Poliment-Redut" as part of an exercise on air defense of the ship.
The press service added that the launch of a flying target simulating a UAV was carried out from the coast of the Kola Peninsula. Anti-aircraft missile firing was carried out at the fleet's combat training grounds in the Barents Sea.
The areas for missile firing were closed in advance for civil aviation and navigation.
During the exercises, the speed, coordination and correctness of the actions of the combat crews of the "Poliment-Redut" SAM system and the combat information center of the ship were checked. The quality and speed of target designation, target acquisition and tracking were assessed.
