Tomsk Scientists Develop Cyber-Physical System Modules for Blood Loss Assessment

The device operates on the basis of artificial intelligence

At the Siberian State Medical University (SSMU), a cyber-physical system is being created to monitor the condition of premature babies. It assesses the degree of blood loss and controls the level of glycemia using artificial intelligence (AI). This was announced by Ivan Tolmachev, head of the Scientific and Technological Center "Digital Medicine and Cyberphysics".

One of the modules is designed to accurately determine the rate of blood loss in patients. This is necessary for calculating the rate of blood transfusion. Another module controls the level of glycemia to prevent complications.

A vital functions monitor is used to assess blood loss. The developed module allows you to determine the rate of blood loss, and, therefore, assess the time required to provide prompt assistance.

The system was originally developed for use in military medicine, but it can be used in intensive care units and resuscitation units for premature babies.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the first Russian monitoring station for collecting data on patients has been tested.
