In the period from September 23 to 29, 2024, 41,686 new passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is a record figure since 2022, that is, for the last approximately three years.
The previous record for car sales in one week was in the period from February 28 to March 6, 2022. Then 38,529 new passenger cars were sold.
In the last week of September this year, which is the 39th in a row, the domestic brand Lada remained the market leader. During this period, 10,335 cars of this brand were sold. The second place is occupied by the Chinese brand Haval with a result of 5,621 cars sold.
Geely rose to third position, selling 4,291 cars, which allowed it to overtake Chery with a result of 4,289 cars. Another Chinese brand, Changan, which sold 3,121 cars, closes the top five leaders.
Let us remind you that from January to August 2024, the most popular model of AvtoVAZ was Lada Granta. Its share in the market amounted to 9.2% of the total demand for new cars.
