An algorithm based on a classifier and neural network for diagnosing epilepsy on electroencephalograms (EEGs) has been developed at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU). This was reported by the press service of the Russian Science Foundation.
The development performs a preliminary analysis of the recording, marking areas that may contain epileptic seizures. Then, the doctor examines the areas marked by the system, confirming or refuting its conclusions.
The new method combines artificial intelligence and knowledge about epilepsy. The development will speed up the detection of the disease.
According to Professor Alexander Khramov of the Baltic Federal University, the result obtained will make it possible to create an epileptic EEG marking system. It is expected that it will reduce the burden on doctors and find application in medical institutions in Russia.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Moscow is implementing a new service for detecting vertebral displacement.
