Russian authorities want software for designing 28 Nm process technology processors to appear in the country by 2030. Such microchips are used, among other things, in smartphones.
The roadmap for the development of electronic and microelectronic computer-aided design (CAD) systems was presented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the "Microelectronics 2024" forum. It is planned that 100 such programs will be created by 2030.
Note that at last year's Microelectronics-2023 forum, plans were presented according to which domestic enterprises should master the production of processors using the 65 Nm process technology in 2026, and 14 Nm by 2030.
It should be recalled that the world's largest electronics manufacturers began producing 28 Nm processors in 2010. For example, first-generation Intel Core i3s, as well as Apple A7 processors installed in the iPhone 5S, were manufactured using this process technology.
