State Duma deputies proposed reducing tariffs for motorcyclists on toll roads. They addressed the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation with a new initiative. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Committee Alexander Spiridonov (United Russia).
According to Alexander Spiridonov, it was proposed to single out motorcyclists into a separate category of vehicles and reduce the toll for travel on toll roads. The decision is due to the fact that the technical parameters of motorcycles and cars are incommensurable, as is the wear and tear on the road surface.
It is worth noting that bikers themselves have previously come up with a similar initiative.
Motorcycles take up less space on the road and damage the road surface less. It is necessary to reduce the cost of travel, for example, by half. Or cancel it altogether.
However, the North-Western Concession Company (the concessionaire of the M-11 Neva highway section) reported that the implementation of the initiative is technically impossible. It will require serious revision of the system and legislative changes.
