PayPal to Introduce Fee for Servicing Inactive Russian Accounts

The PayPal payment system will introduce an annual fee for servicing inactive accounts of users from Russia. The innovation will take effect on October 7 of this year.

We are introducing an extension service fee to maintain your account if there is a balance on your PayPal account in any currency. The fee applies to personal and corporate accounts.
Message from PayPal

The company's client mailing states that the commission will be 3.5 thousand rubles or the equivalent of this amount in another currency. Funds will be debited once a year from accounts with a positive balance that have not been active for 12 months.

It is worth noting that at the moment the service does not allow Russians to open personal and corporate accounts. The message to customers also noted that if the user does not agree with the new rules, they should close their account before October 7, 2024.
