Tupolev JSC is launching the creation of an Innovative Design Center focused on modernizing the Tu-214 medium-range passenger airliner. The company has announced the recruitment of specialists to work in the center, including both experienced designers and young professionals and engineering teams.
The Innovation Center, headed by Konstantin Timofeev, First Deputy General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and Managing Director of Tupolev JSC, will focus on developing and implementing breakthrough ideas and solutions in aircraft construction. The main task of the center will be to increase production efficiency, improve aircraft performance, and develop innovative solutions to improve the design of the Tu-214.
The center's specialists will work on tasks such as ensuring the weight perfection of the passenger aircraft, increasing flight range, reducing assembly labor intensity, and other aspects of modernization. The innovation group will include from 12 to 25 specialists.
Recruitment to the team will take place following interviews. Timofeev expressed hope that the innovation center will become a "think tank" that will create a more advanced version of the aircraft and reach new heights in aircraft construction.
