Tomsk scientists improve device for controlling the battery of the Russian Orbital Station

Module to extend the life of the power source

Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) has created a new method to improve the properties of a lithium-ion battery control device for the basic module of the Russian Orbital Station, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science reported.

The module is a compact device that is installed on board the station in integration with the battery.

Thanks to the unique voltage equalization technology developed by Tomsk engineers, the module is capable of significantly extending the life of the battery, and the constant monitoring system for its condition in real time will ensure trouble-free operation.

It is worth noting that TUSUR previously developed similar devices. They are used on spacecraft for geostationary orbit and remote sensing of the Earth, as well as in the power supply systems of the Orel transport spacecraft.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian orbital station will receive a swarm of small satellites.
