Project 12700 mine countermeasures ships (code "Alexandrite") of the Russian Navy have been equipped with unmanned underwater vehicles for searching and destroying sea mines. This was announced by the commander of the Baltic Fleet ships formation, Captain 2nd Rank Alexei Sergeev.

According to him, the ships are equipped with an unmanned underwater vehicle that allows searching, classifying, and further destroying an underwater object using either hydraulic cutters or an overlay charge.

Project 12700 minesweepers developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) belong to a new generation of mine-sweeping forces. They are designed to search for, trawl, and destroy mines in coastal areas and the near sea zone.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec transferred another batch of Su-57 and Su-35S fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The winged machines have passed a full cycle of factory tests.
