Ankara did not include Russian air defense systems in the "Steel Dome" air defense system

The military-political leadership of Turkey has approved the main provisions of the program for creating an integrated air defense system. We are talking about the development of a new comprehensive system "Steel Dome" (Çelik Kubbe), which will not include Russian S-400 "Triumph" air defense systems.

It is alleged that the S-400s purchased from Russia "do not meet Turkey's long-term air defense strategy." Consequently, Ankara may abandon the "Triumphs."

Çelik Kubbe is an attempt to combine various means of combating aerial targets (from UAVs to cruise missiles) into a single complex. It will include developments from ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TÜBİTAK SAGE and MKE.

In particular, the Korkut gun systems and Sungur mobile systems, the Hisar air defense system, Siper. Among the promising developments that will be included in the "Steel Dome" are the Gökberk laser system and the Alka direct energy weapon.
