Western automotive industry fled from Russia slamming the door. This was stated by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Denis Manturov. He doubts that European manufacturers will return to our country, despite options to return.
It is difficult for me to imagine that they will return. They also have options to return, but I highly doubt the real prospects and possibilities of their implementation.
The politician explained that the platforms of alternative manufacturers are now used on more comfortable terms.
Of course, Manturov means Chinese manufacturers, who are actively present in the Russian automotive market, but are not in a hurry to invest in the construction of factories. They try to assemble cars using the large-unit assembly method, supplying vehicle kits from China.
One of the few foreign manufacturers to have built a full-cycle plant was Great Wall. However, it concluded a special investment contract (SPIC) with the state.
