Russian "Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsensk" Plant Started Operating - It Produces Materials for Electric Arc Welding

The enterprise previously belonged to the American holding "Lincoln Electric", but now it has returned to the fold of domestic industry

The "Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsensk" enterprise in the Oryol region is again producing welding materials for electric arc welding: solid section wires with a diameter of 0.8 to 5.0 mm, coated electrodes with a diameter of 2.5 to 5.0 mm, and flux-cored welding wires.

The regional publication "OrelTimes", referring to the "First Regional" TV channel, writes that 140 people have returned to the plant. Throughout the forced downtime, the company paid salaries to these people. With the opening of production, the process of restoring the customer base began, orders appeared, and it was possible to increase employee salaries by another 50%.

It is known that JSC "Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsensk" was formed in 1999 on the basis of the "Mtsensk Plant of Textile Engineering", after which equipment was purchased for the production of welding electrodes and wire, and production began.

In 2010, the enterprise became part of the US group of companies "Lincoln Electric", then on the site of this holding it was consolidated with JSC "Severstal-Welding Materials". Technical equipment was purchased for the production of flux-cored wires. In the spring of 2022, "Lincoln Electric" announced that it was leaving Russia, and "Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsensk" came to a standstill.

As noted in JSC "Mezhgosmetiz-Mtsensk", the enterprise left "Lincoln Electric" in 2024, and now a"new page" begins for it.
