The Z-STS Akhmat armored vehicle will be produced in Russia in two versions: basic and with an improved engine and transmission. This was announced by Alexander Zakharov, General Director of Remdiesel.
According to him, "Akhmat" has become the most produced among the company's other protected vehicles recently. Now Remdiesel is modernizing this chassis, we want to make it more modern in terms of transmission and engine.
The Z-STS vehicle is quite repairable and mass-produced. We will make two versions: one simpler - in fact, this is what we produce today; and the other version will be on a different chassis, more modern.
The protected ten-seater vehicle Z-STS "Akhmat" with a 6x6 wheel formula is assembled on a serial frame using domestic components with a superstructure according to the "Typhoon" class vehicle.
Inside, it is possible to place both crew seats, as well as a paramedic seat and stretchers for transporting the wounded.
Earlier, the former Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Air Force Issues of the CIS Joint Air Defense System, Lieutenant General of the Reserve Aytech Bizhev, expressed the opinion on the need to rethink Russian air defense. According to him, the system needs to switch to automated control.
