Youtube's operation may be completely restricted in Russia within 3-5 months. This was announced by German Klimenko, Chairman of the Council of the Foundation for the Development of the Digital Economy.
He emphasized that the authorities have not made any official statements about blocking the platform. But the video hosting service has already been slowed down.
According to Klimenko, additional testing is needed to fully introduce restrictions. This will give an assessment of the technical side of the issue.
I would assume that, judging by the reaction that is currently present, YouTube will work for another 3-5 months, and then it will be blocked.
It was noted that Roskomnadzor has the ability to counteract almost all VPN services from Google and Apple Store.
Previously, cases of accelerating the video hosting service by Russian providers were identified. Roskomnadzor immediately imposed a ban on such actions. Telecom operators received warning letters.
