Russian military personnel began using a tracked modification of the Grad-1 multiple launch rocket system based on the MT-LB multi-purpose light armored tractor, which troops call the "motolyga", instead of the standard version on the ZIL-131 chassis. The footage appeared on the air of Channel One.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the new item was equipped with a 9P138 transport and launch package with 36 guides of 122 mm caliber for 9M22U-1 unguided rockets with a range of 20.4 km, as well as 9M521 and 9M522 with ranges of 40 and 37.5 km, respectively.
The Grad-1 MLRS includes a 9P138 combat vehicle, a 9M28F unguided rocket, a 9T450 transport vehicle, and a set of special arsenal equipment 9F380.
