Россия готова проработать с Чили использование карт платежной системы «Мир»

Russian Ambassador to Chile reported that this could help increase tourist exchanges

The Russian side is ready to consider the possibility of introducing "Mir" payment system cards in Chile, according to Russian Ambassador to Chile Vladimir Belinsky.

According to him, negotiations are underway on this issue. Russia intends to work out the details of using "Mir" cards in Chile. The introduction of the Russian payment system in the country may contribute to an increase in tourist exchanges between the countries, given the growing interest of Russians in Chile as a tourist destination.

"Mir" cards operate in 13 countries besides Russia, including Myanmar, Abkhazia, Belarus, South Ossetia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Cuba, Venezuela, and Vietnam. The introduction of the payment system is planned in Egypt, Iran, and Mauritius. In August, the Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation announced that "Mir" cards would start working in Iran within six months.

The Central Bank of Russia seeks to expand the use of cards to 20 countries in the near future and increase their number to 35 countries by 2030.
