The armed forces of Belarus have deployed Polonez-M multiple launch rocket systems in the border regions. This is an effective and modern weapon that can simultaneously engage up to eight targets at a range of up to 300 km.
The complex is already being called a competitor to the American HIMARS system, as the Polonez-M uses satellite navigation to deliver high-precision strikes. The combat vehicle is a control point on the MZKT 7930 chassis, it is designed to provide communication, reconnaissance and target designation, and has its own electronic warfare equipment.
The rockets of the Polonez-M system have a caliber of 301 mm and carry various charges: cluster, thermobaric, and high-explosive fragmentation.
The battery consists of a mobile control module, two transport-loading vehicles and two launchers — they are made on the basis of the MAZ truck.
The equipment installed in the combat control vehicle provides communication with combat, transport-loading and command vehicles at a distance of up to 10 km in motion and up to 30 km when stationary. The combat crew of the Polonez consists of four people and can work continuously for up to 48 hours.
A salvo of eight rockets at eight different targets is fired by the MLRS in 50 seconds, and the system preparation time for a salvo does not exceed eight minutes.
