Впервые в истории: штурман российского вертолета Ка-52М поразил ракетой «Вихрь-1» британский танк Challenger Mk.2

The Vikhr-1 anti-tank missile was developed by the Kalashnikov concern

The navigator of a Ka-52M attack helicopter has, for the first time in history, struck a British Challenger Mk.2 main battle tank with a Vikhr-1 anti-tank missile. This was noted by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

The strike was carried out by the Ka-52M navigator using the thermal imaging channel of the GOES-451M multispectral optoelectronic complex. With a high degree of probability, the tank was hit with the penetration of a cumulative jet into the behind-armor space, since the contact with the ERA and the side armor plate of the hull occurred at an angle of 35-40°.
