For the First Time in History: Russian Ka-52M Helicopter Navigator Hits British Challenger Mk.2 Tank with a "Vikhr-1" Missile

The "Vikhr-1" anti-tank missile was developed by the "Kalashnikov" concern

For the first time in history, the navigator of a Ka-52M attack helicopter used a "Vikhr-1" anti-tank missile to hit a British Challenger Mk.2 main battle tank. This was noted by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

The strike was carried out by the Ka-52M navigator using the thermal imaging channel of the GOES-451M multispectral optoelectronic complex. With a high degree of probability, the tank was hit with the penetration of a cumulative jet into the behind-armor space, since the contact with the ERA and the side armor plate of the hull occurred at an angle of 35-40°.
